Özkan AKYILDIZ

Özkan graduated in economics from the University of Bremen in 2001 and has many years of management experience in the energy, information technology and telecommunications sectors.

He began his career as an IT consultant at T-Systems in Germany and moved to the EWE Group in 2004, where he was responsible for various functions within EWE in Germany until 2009, initially as a consultant and project manager, and later as Area Manager for Turkey and Assistant to the Board of Management at BTC AG. In 2009, he took over the management of BTC Turkey.

In 2013, he started working as COO for EWE Energy, the largest, private gas trading company in Turkey, where he managed operations, built process and information technology infrastructure, and was responsible for developing new business opportunities. In 2016, he was promoted to CEO.

In September 2017, Özkan was appointed Chief Sales Officer of EWE Turkey Holding, continued his role as CEO of EWE Energy. As CSO, he was responsible for the electricity sales and trading business, energy efficiency management of Enervis and telecommunications activities of Millenicom, as well as collectively all sales activities of EWE Group companies. In addition, Özkan was responsible for implementing EWE's customer-focused vision and brand repositioning and marketing strategy in Turkey.

From 2020 to April 2023, Özkan worked as an investor & advisor in SMEs and startups in various industries such as energy, IT, medical equipment and food.

Since May 2023, Özkan has been working as Managing Director Sales & Business Development at Pure Energy GmbH in Düsseldorf. His focus is on developing the electricity sales business and leading the rapid growth path in new business areas such as battery storage systems.
